Will Office 365 Enterprise E1 work with my copy of Office?

Office 365 Enterprise E1 works best with the new Office, Office 2013, and Office 2011 for Mac. Previous versions of Office, such as Office 2010 and Office 2007, may work with Office 365 with reduced functionality. Note that you do not need to have a desktop version of Office to be able to use Enterprise E1. However, you will be able to work offline better if you connect a desktop version of Office to the Office 365 services and keep them in sync.

Can I use my own domain name for the emails?

Yes, you can add the domain name you own to your Office 365 account and set up your domain-based email addresses. You can even add multiple domains and sub-domains to Office 365 and host any of the services, including email, on any of the domains that you add. You must own a domain name and as an admin, you will have to make some changes on the DNS records of your domain.

What happens to my data if I decide to cancel my Office 365 subscription?

Even if you cancel your Office 365 subscription your data will continue to be yours. In such a case, we suggest that you first download your data like emails, files, and documents on team sites and save it to any other location, before you cancel your subscription. After you cancel your subscription, the data in your Office 365 account will still continue to be available to your administrator for 90 days in a limited function account.

Can I switch to other Office 365 plans?

Yes. You can change to a higher plan when you need to upgrade. For example, you can upgrade from an Office 365 Enterprise E1 plan to an Office 365 Enterprise E3 or Enterprise E5 plan. When you do an upgrade, your domain name in your existing account is transferred to your new account, irrespective of whether you brought your own domain name to the Office 365 account or you created a domain name with Office 365.
